Photo of the Day 2: Siargao Sunset

This one is a shot of the sun setting in Siargao in 2007. I went there with my foreigner buddies to learn how to surf. But when we got there I got sick and had to stay in bed while they conquered the waves. I felt so bad, I forced myself to get up at sun down and at least take some good shots.

One of these days, I'm gonna go back and actually surf. Just you wait and see.

From here on, I'll try to post pictures that I have taken in the past.

This first one, is when I was in Camiguin in 2007. I went to the sand bar by myself, read a book and fell asleep on the sand. When I woke up, I was all sorts of burnt and red. And because I was all alone in the island, I had to take this shot myself, which was challenging considering how heavy my old Canon slr was. That day was just perfect, the sand was so white, it was almost blinding, the skies were the right blue and the waters were just so clear.

I usually don't like posting pictures of myself, but because I really miss the beach, I'll put this one.

Take me to the beach

As much as I enjoy life in the city, what with each day becoming more and more of an adventure (oooh flood waters, bring out your surf boards!), I can't wait to go to the beach, read a book and just be by my lonesome self.

At the end of this month, I will hopefully be able to go back to Camiguin, where the beach is immaculately white, the waters blue as the sky,  the food is cheap, the people are friendly and the skies are clear. And yes, where lanzones is abundant and not extravagantly priced!

For now, I'll just have to enjoy looking at the pictures.

I can't wait! I can already taste the lanzones.
